Mariette Hughes - interim appointment

On 5 August 2025, Mariette Hughes was appointed as interim Service Police Complaints Commissioner, following Margaret Obi's departure to take up a new role.

Mariette brings extensive ombudsman experience to the role, including the significant expertise she has in military complaints processes from her work as the Service Complaints Ombudsman for the Armed Forces (SCOAF).

Mariette will continue in her current role as SCOAF, alongside her new temporary role as SPCC. Both offices will maintain their usual operations throughout this period, ensuring there is no disruption to the services provided.
