2024 SPCC Annual Report
The Service Police Complaints Commissioner has published its 2024 Annual Report, laid before Parliament on 10 July 2025.
Under the Service Police (Complaints etc.) Regulations 2023, the SPCC has a statutory duty to report annually to the Secretary of State on how it has carried out its functions during the year (in accordance with Regulation 7).
The report sets out the Commissioner’s oversight of complaints and conduct matters within the Service Police complaints system. That includes those complaints dealt with by Service Police Professional Standards Departments and not referred to the SPCC. This independent oversight plays a vital role in maintaining public trust and confidence in Service Policing.
Based on the Commissioner’s findings, the 2024 report makes four recommendations to improve Service Police complaints arrangements and practices, where needed. The SPCC will work closely with the Service Police and Ministry of Defence to implement these recommendations.
